Responsibilities

Administrative tasks (frequent telephone communication with clients, attorneys and internal staff, expense report preparation, printing, scanning, mailings, calendar management and scheduling, maintaining and organizing electronic files, and possible coordination of travel arrangements)
Legal-specific tasks (document revisions, conversions, redlining, file preparation, docketing and immigration tracking relevant to deadlines)
Other higher-level tasks as assigned
Correspond with foreign nationals (primarily in English or Spanish) to gather documentation, prepare nonimmigrant visa applications, and schedule consular appointments
Assist attorneys and clients with consular processing of nonimmigrant visa applications
Prepare immigration filing packets and related materials

Qualification

Immigration law experienceMicrosoft Office proficiencyBilingual (English/Spanish)Critical thinkingInterpersonal skillsOrganizational skillsCommunication skillsTeamwork

Required

At least two years as a legal or administrative assistant; prior experience in immigration law strongly preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and comfort with other software tools
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Ability to proactively manage deadlines and handle competing priorities
Accuracy and precision in all aspects of work
Ability to work effectively in a team setting
Strong academic and professional background
