Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems
Troubleshoot and address issues promptly, including guestroom maintenance, public areas, and back-of-house systems
Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the hotel’s facilities and systems are functioning efficiently
Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations
Adhere to hotel policies and Marriott standards for safety and security
Respond quickly to emergencies, such as leaks, power outages, or equipment failures, to minimize disruption to guests
Provide excellent customer service when interacting with guests during maintenance calls
Ensure minimal impact on guests during maintenance activities
Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance schedules
Report major repair needs or equipment malfunctions to the Chief Engineer

Required

Previous experience in building maintenance, engineering, or a related field
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
Basic carpentry, painting, and general repair skills
Familiarity with safety codes and regulations
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
High school diploma or equivalent required
Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical activities such as climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and working in tight spaces

Preferred

Hospitality experience is a plus
Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems a plus
