Associate Editor

Vault Comics is a Missoula, Montana based entertainment company and publisher known for curating bold new science fiction, fantasy, and horror stories. Responsibilities

Editorial review, notes, and associated communication on assigned publications (45%)
Schedule and project management coordination with Editorial and other departments (15%)
Creative team building and talent sourcing (10%)
Catalog curation and acquisition (10%)
Coordination with Design & Production Department (10%)
Assisting with metadata creation, data entry, and data maintenance (5%)
Other sales & marketing duties as may be determined from time to time by the Editor-in-Chief or CEO (5%)

Required

Bachelor's degree or higher
At least (2) years of prior professional experience editing comics or graphic novels
At least three (3) years of prior professional experience managing and organizing creative projects
High level of proficiency with both Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
High level of proficiency with editorial review, note giving, note tracking, and creative direction
Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
Familiarity with at least one of: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or Adobe InDesign
Sophisticated understanding of formal aspects of and jargon related to comics and graphic novels
General understanding of printing and print preparation processes
Strong organizational skills
Strong communication skills, especially written communication
Strong presentation and public speaking skills
Enthusiasm for and knowledge of pop culture, including comics, graphic novels, movies, video games, and popular fiction

Preferred

Preference may be given to candidates with prior success managing or coordinating crowdfunding projects
Preference may be given to candidates with the following skills: Comic book writing, Comic book lettering, Comic book art or coloring
