Support 1, Operations Intern

Katalyst CRO is seeking an Operations Intern to provide support to the OpEx Engineering team in driving Lean transformation and quality improvement initiatives in manufacturing. The intern will assist in implementing strategies and tools that enhance manufacturing processes and support continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities

To support the Manufacturing Manager in implementing Lean transformation and continuous improvement that leads to safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity across the manufacturing organization:
Participating in Gemba walks, kaizens, supporting employees on continuous improvement, standard work, flow, takt time attainment, and problem-solving abnormalities causing tasks to make mistakes
Support development and improvement of Assembly visual work aid
Conduct cycle time analyses, time studies, line balance improvements and workplace improvements
Support lean disciplines and 5-S to internal processes
Support on-site audits
Support continuous improvement and cost reduction projects at the site
Appreciation and awareness for Manufacturing demand and prioritization
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Required

Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or other related fields of study
0 to 2 years of related work experience
Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work across a variety of departments
Multi-tasking and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
Appreciation and awareness for Manufacturing demand and prioritization
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred

Related project work or previous internship a plus
Knowledge Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement-based tools and techniques a plus
