The role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable applications in a regulated financial services environment, collaborating with agile teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications supporting enterprise financial systems

Build and support RESTful APIs and microservices using modern Java frameworks

Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions with senior engineers and stakeholders

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established engineering standards

Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming)

Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues with a focus on performance and reliability

Ensure applications meet security, compliance, and data protection standards

Contribute to code reviews and mentor junior developers when appropriate

Required

4+ years of professional experience developing applications with Java (Java 8+)

Strong experience with Spring / Spring Boot frameworks

Experience building and consuming RESTful services

Solid understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and design patterns

Experience with SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar)

Familiarity with unit testing and test automation (JUnit, Mockito, etc.)

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)

Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes)

Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)

Exposure to event-driven architectures and messaging platforms (Kafka, SNS/SQS, etc.)

Understanding of secure coding practices and enterprise compliance requirements

Prior experience supporting applications in financial services or regulated industries
