People Operations Manager (Payroll & Benefits)
JCW Group is seeking a highly detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Manager to lead end-to-end payroll and benefits administration for a growing, multi-state workforce. This role is responsible for bi-monthly and off-cycle payrolls, ensuring compliance and accuracy, while also administering benefits programs and maintaining strong internal controls.
Responsibilities
Own bi-monthly and off-cycle payroll processing, including equity vesting events, bonuses, adjustments, and terminations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across multiple states
Maintain and enhance payroll and benefits internal controls, including SOX requirements, reconciliations, system access reviews, and audit support
Partner with Finance and HR on payroll reporting, account reconciliations, audits, and cross-functional initiatives
Administer benefits programs, including open enrollment, 401(k) activities, leave programs, and coordination of equity compensation (RSAs)
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration, including multi-state payroll and regulatory compliance
Strong knowledge of SOX controls, audits, payroll reconciliations, and internal control frameworks
Proficiency with payroll systems (Paycor preferred), advanced Excel skills, and experience administering equity compensation through payroll and brokerage platforms
