Business Intelligence Analyst

Responsibilities

Build Management Operating Reports
Build Management Reports which proactively identify potential compliance issues to ensure quality of operating groups
Conduct quantitative and statistical analysis on mortgage servicing data to identify compliance issues
Prepare reports that include effective graphs, tables, summaries, and narratives
Develop a quality control and compliance system and execute test cases to validate compliance with regulatory guidelines and operational standards independent of the Compliance Management System and presents findings/recommendations to Business Administration team
Working with several large and complex SQL databases; designing static reports; designing and developing interactive dashboards and analytical reports
Extract data from multiple sources including internal and external databases to create integrated views that can be used to drive decisions
Write accurate and efficient SQL queries that can be leveraged on a regular basis and collaborate with development team to research data issues and content and assist with problem resolution
Participates in Manual Testing and reviews manual testing processes to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement, process re-engineering
Actively participates in requirements gathering and test design; identify gaps in business requirements, determine areas that are higher risk and high priority and communicate testing concerns and reports findings to Business Administration team for reporting to Senior Management
Ensure high quality compliance and quality control deliverables (i.e. test approach, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test results, process documentation, metrics, etc.)
Mentor and train other team members
Scrutinize existing testing methodologies and provide improvement options; stay up to date on the latest testing methodologies and technologies
Stay up to date on CFPB, GSE, State, Federal and other guidelines related to Mortgage Servicing
Analyze existing applications to identify new tests to consider or areas where the applications can be improved
Work closely with department managers and software developers in a highly interactive and creative environment
Solve technical challenges efficiently and effectively
Complete all required training in timely manner

Required

BS/BA degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, or a related field required
3+ years of experience in mortgage banking or mortgage servicing operations required
Maintain & foster positive relationships with customers and business partners
Complete all assigned training in a timely manner
Provide professional communication in both oral & written expression
Knowledge of CFPB, federal and state and agency mortgage servicing rules
Expert in manipulating data to extract desired information and highly proficient with Database management Systems, functions, views and stored procedures, database analysis and report building
Strong analytical, multi-tasking, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills
Highly proficient with Microsoft applications, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint
Proficiency with complex SQL queries, and stored procedures
Programming experience in Python or R
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong ability to present data visually
Ability to identify and implement solutions to improve productivity and resolve issues and problems
Ability to prioritize workload and to work under pressure and deadlines
Ability to work independently and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong oral and written communication skills, teamwork, learning-on-the-fly and a strong desire to succeed
