Purchasing Manager - Intl. Imports
Ultimate Staffing is a manufacturing and importing business based in Commerce, CA. They are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee and improve procurement operations, which includes sourcing products, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with trade regulations.
Responsibilities
Manage purchasing of products and materials from global suppliers
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to reduce costs
Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and documentation
Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers for timely shipments
Forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels
Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships
Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities
Collaborate with sales, finance, and logistics teams to align purchasing goals
Prepare reports and maintain accurate procurement records
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
5+ years of purchasing experience, ideally in import/export
Knowledge of global sourcing, logistics, and trade compliance
Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
Experience working with international suppliers
Preferred
Familiarity with U.S. customs regulations
Multilingual and knowledge of international markets
Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Preferred bachelor's in supply chain / business management
