Responsibilities
Building out new products while updating and expanding existing offerings
Leading projects spanning the entire tech stack while demonstrating and mentoring others on best practices and high-quality standards
Demonstrating strong collaboration through pull requests, demos, and working relationships, giving and receiving feedback positively, and identifying risks and blockers as they arise
Taking ownership over deliverables, quality, and support across your team's systems and components, being accountable for driving projects from ideation through production
Demonstrating a deep understanding of your team's business domain and using that knowledge to identify risks and blockers during planning discussions
Ensuring feasibility and alignment between business goals and technical implementation
Bringing a positive attitude to work and embodying Basis' core principles
Qualification
Required
5 years or more of professional software experience
Experience planning and building production-level applications leveraging a modern web software stack. Our application is primarily built with React, Ruby on Rails, and is hosted on AWS
Strong grasp of data modeling, SQL, query optimization, tuning for read/write performance and scalability
Knowledge and fluency in the tools used to build and maintain software: Git, Unix/Linux environments, and automated testing tools
Commitment to creating inclusive, respectful environments where all voices are valued and supported
Thoughtful approach to collaboration, design, and decision-making that prioritizes equity, access, and continuous learning
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or related field
Experience with entire development cycle of projects
