Assistant Designer – Girls Apparel
Golden Touch is a family owned and operated wholesale apparel manufacturer with a mission to deliver trend focused products for nearly 50 years. The Assistant Designer will support the Girls design team across various categories, manage sample logistics, and facilitate communication between design and production teams.

Responsibilities
Support the Designers throughout the development cycle, from concept to production
Work with sweaters, activewear, cut and sew, and wovens
Communicate and follow up with factories and team members
Support Designers with inspiration and trend research
Run out to local shops for trims and fabric as needed, pickup and drop off from local sample rooms
Sample management- Order, track, organize, steam, tag, distribute, send, receive, return, and photograph all the samples we have coming in
Create seasonal and capsule line sheets
Help coordinate with our CAD designer and request CADs as needed
Create CAD boards of all ATS styles for our sales team
Assign style numbers in PLM for our sales team when requested
Create new requests from our fabric team and continue to follow up with them. Launching yardage, asking about sample yardage availability, etc
Set up new PowerPoints for the team to use for research, development, and presentations
Assist with any meeting prep
Send styles to our costing team via PLM and create costing line sheets
Routinely check online for new images of our products on buyer’s websites to save down for future use and reference
Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, TEAMS)
Knowledge of the full life cycle of a garment
Maintain sample closet and showroom samples
Knowledge of PLM is a plus
Qualification
Required
1+ years of experience at the Assistant level in the apparel industry in either showroom or sample management capacity
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, TEAMS)
Strong foundation in Adobe Suite (mainly illustrator and acrobat, a bit of photoshop)
Knowledge of the full life cycle of a garment
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
Proactive team player
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in apparel design preferred
Knowledge of PLM is a plus
Fabric knowledge in both knits and wovens is preferred
