Required

Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences, Engineering, or Computer Sciences
Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a researcher
Should have a record of activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of research
Contributes to the university's mission through research and service
Adherence to robust safety practices and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations
Design, implementation and maintenance of custom data products and tools
Interactions with project partners and user groups
Research and dissemination
Close collaboration with several State of Texas and National Weather Service partners involving occasional travel to work closely with those entities
Excellent communication abilities to collaborate with non-technical audiences, such as policymakers or responders, to present and develop custom user-focused data products and tools
Works well within a team environment

Preferred

Experience handling observational weather data from systems like surface weather stations and weather radars
Expertise in visualization and mapping tools (such as ArcGIS) tailored to high-impact weather scenarios
