This role involves negotiating, drafting, and advising on procurement, technology licensing, and compliance matters involving public sector customers worldwide, particularly in relation to U.S. Federal, State, and local Government customers.

Responsibilities

Support AWS's public sector sales teams by negotiating, drafting, and advising on a wide range of procurement, technology licensing, and compliance matters involving public sector customers worldwide
Emphasis on public sector resellers, distributors, and systems integrators that sell to U.S. Federal, State, and local Government customers
Work independently and comfortably while making decisions in ambiguous situations
Participate in team-wide meetings, departmental goals, and collaborative projects
Have access and visibility to business leadership

Required

2+ years of legal experience
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
Experience with government procurement and contracting process
Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
Experience working cross functionally across several teams

Preferred

Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
Knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local government contracting laws, rules, and regulations
Experience negotiating and drafting technology licensing agreements with public sector resellers, distributors, and systems integrators serving U.S. government agencies, state / local governments, or other public sector customers
