Required

High school diploma or GED
Knowledge of professional office and administrative practices and procedures
Information research experience
Customer service experience
One or more years' relevant professional experience
Knowledge of professional office protocol and procedures
Skill in using Microsoft Office and other Windows-based PC software applications
Skill in word processing and mainframe terminal operation
Skill in basic mathematical operations, reading and writing comprehension, and professional business writing
Skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing
Demonstrated skill in working on tasks requiring meticulous attention to detail while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Demonstrated ability to retrieve and analyze acquired information from hard files, microfilm and computer database
Ability to learn and understand oil and gas policy and procedures and interpret processes
Ability to accurately file, sort, alphabetize, organize, and distribute documents and retrieve files
Ability to operate copiers, as well as other general office equipment
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 30 pounds
Ability to stoop, reach low and high, push and pull heavy file drawers and/or cart
Ability to work around equipment generating heat, noise, and bright reflective lights

Preferred

Bachelor's or advanced degree in Library Information Science, records management, research, or a related information science field
General knowledge of Railroad Commission of Texas Oil and Gas Division functions
Detailed familiarity with forms and filing procedures
Experience in the operation of various types of imaging or microfilm equipment
