Altium PCB Designer

Contract Professionals, Inc. is seeking an Altium PCB Designer to support CCA development for high-reliability undersea communication systems. This role focuses on PCB layout, library management, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration in a mission-critical defense environment.

Responsibilities

Support circuit card assembly (CCA) development for electronics used in undersea communication systems
Perform PCB layout design using Altium Designer
Support schematic capture and layout activities in Altium and Xpedition environments
Create and maintain component libraries, symbols, and footprints
Generate and manage design documentation including BOMs, ODB++ fabrication packages, and 3D models
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability
Communicate with suppliers to clarify design documentation and fabrication requirements as needed
Support hands-on prototyping and circuit design efforts

Required

4+ years of experience using Altium for PCB design
Associate's degree or equivalent plus 7+ years of relevant experience
U.S. citizenship required due to the nature of the work

Preferred

Department of Defense Secret security clearance preferred or obtainable within a reasonable period after hire
Experience with Altium Designer 27 or Altium IPC footprint and schematic generators
Experience with library management practices in Altium or Xpedition
Knowledge of PCB layout tools from the Mentor Graphics suite (xDM, Xpedition, DXdatabook, BoardStation, Hyperlynx)
Experience with schematic capture in Altium and Xpedition
3D modeling experience using SolidWorks, NX, or CREO
Experience using Footprint Expert
Basic knowledge of IPC and manufacturing standards
In-depth knowledge of CCA fabrication techniques
