Responsibilities

Sets up, adjusts, and operates numerically controlled machine tools to perform a series of progressive production operations to close and exacting tolerances and finish specification requiring considerable skill

Works from programming instructions, operational data and machine setup instruction defining and coding tool arrangements, machine calibrations and console settings

Operate several machines at once

Performs work efficiently according to cycle time standards, and minimizes scrap and material used during the setup of the equipment

Provides necessary and detailed feedback for changes to engineering masters and product routers

Loads and replenishes machines by lifting stock into position, typically using an industrial forklift

Prepares and replenishes finished goods and WIP packaging for the off-loading of completed parts

Uses measurement tools and optical equipment to verify machine settings by measuring first piece, and sample workpieces, through the adherence to industry and certification specific standards

Maintains a clean work area and safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications

Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
