Team Lead

Responsibilities

Use empowerment, trust and other strategies as appropriate to develop and motivate team members
Lead team members in the area using +QDIP and driving adherence to standard work
Maintain production records using written records, computers, barcode scanning equipment or other technologies
Monitor and expedite flow of information through the work cells and use problem solving techniques to resolve recurring issues with safety, inventory accuracy, scheduling productivity and quality
Provide the team with a vision of the project objectives by leading daily start up meetings
Train employees in equipment operation, department processes, quality and safety standards using Training Within Industry methods (TWI-JI)
Assist in planning work area assignments
Recognize and celebrate team and team member accomplishments and exceptional performance
Keep the supervisor informed of task accomplishment, issues and status, escalate when necessary
Serve as a central point to communicate and resolve issues with other teams
Provide guidance to the team based on management direction
Bridge the between shift gap for customer pick up, point of contact for security etc

Qualification

Required

High school diploma/General Education Degree (GED)
2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Proven ability to follow through on commitments and details
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skill
Ability to problem solve
Ability to perform varied and complex tasks

Preferred

Associate's degree
2+ years of experience with ERP systems, JDE/Oracle preferred
Good technical problem solving/analytical skills and mechanical aptitude
Hands-on, shop floor experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred
Forklift knowledge a plus
