The role focuses on outside general counsel–style advisory work, mergers and acquisitions, and general business transactions, requiring the candidate to manage sophisticated matters independently.
Responsibilities
Independently manage sophisticated corporate matters
Serve as a primary client contact and manage matters from initial consultation through closing
Draft and negotiate agreements
Advise on corporate governance
Manage transactions from inception through completion
Coordinate with other practice groups as needed to support client objectives
Qualification
Required
Approximately 7–12+ years of corporate transactional experience, including M&A and outside general counsel–style advisory work
Ability to independently handle a broad range of corporate matters, including drafting and negotiating agreements, advising on corporate governance, and managing transactions from inception through completion
Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, serve as a trusted advisor, and handle matters autonomously
Comfortable coordinating with other practice groups as needed to support client objectives
Admission to the New York Bar is required
Ability to work in a hybrid environment with regular New York office presence
