Responsibilities

Inspect and test structural steel during erection on general commercial building sites
Perform observations, inspections and tests of building construction projects
Document findings in accordance with accepted engineering practice

Qualification

AWS CWI certificationICC Welding certificationICC High Strength Bolting certificationLevel II PTMTUT certificationConstruction inspection experienceInterpret engineering plansAWS specificationsAISC specificationsVerbal communication skillsWritten communication skills

Required

At least 2 years' experience with construction and structural steel erection
AWS CWI or ICC Welding certification
ICC High Strength Bolting certification
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
Ability to meet pre-employment requirements
Reliable vehicle suitable for use on construction sites
Ability to work nights and weekends, as required
Ability to lift and/or move up to 60-80 pounds
Ability to interpret engineering and construction plans/specifications

Preferred

Certification as Level II in PT, MT and UT methods preferred
Knowledge of AWS and AISC specifications desired
Knowledge of other trades such as soils, aggregates, concrete, fireproofing, EIFS is a plus
