Responsibilities

Develop and maintain FHIR-based interfaces for exchanging healthcare data with Epic and other EHRs
Work on Epic inbound data workflows, mapping external clinical and administrative data to Epic data models
Collaborate with integration teams to design and implement solutions aligned with HL7 FHIR standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., USCDI)
Perform data mapping, transformation, and validation of EHR messages and clinical documents
Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues related to data ingestion, mapping, and routing
Support testing and deployment activities in QA and production environments
Participate in agile development cycles and communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners

Required

4+ years of experience in healthcare integration, particularly working with FHIR APIs and EHR/EMR systems
Strong hands-on experience with Epic EHR, including Epic data mapping (especially inbound data)
Solid understanding of FHIR R4, RESTful APIs, HL7 v2, and other healthcare standards
Experience with data ingestion pipelines, data normalization, and structured clinical data formats
Familiarity with healthcare interoperability platforms and tools (e.g., Mirth, InterSystems, Redox, or HealthShare)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred

Epic certifications (e.g., Bridges, HL7, Chronicles) are a plus
Experience working with ModMed, Athena, or Cerner is an advantage
Knowledge of US healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, CMS mandates, etc.)
Background in software development (Python, JavaScript, or similar) is a plus
