Engineer II, E&E Engineer (Onsite)

Collins Aerospace is seeking an Engineer II to support mature military programs focused on electric power generation. The role involves working with a multi-disciplinary team on the design, development, testing, and support of aircraft engine-mounted generators and motors.

Responsibilities

Support manufacturing and repair facilities with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations related to test rejects and production returns
Perform concept selection, electromagnetic and mechanical analysis and design, as well as development and qualification testing of defined corrective actions to ensure effectiveness and compliance
Drive implementation of corrective actions into production and repair processes
Communicate technical findings and program updates related to production and field issues to internal teams, suppliers, and customers
Support new business proposals, formal design reviews, and customer presentations as needed

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

Preferred

Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, with a focus on electric machines
Applied Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies to support both production and field return investigations, resulting in implemented and validated corrective actions aligned with quality and reliability standards
Experience in electromagnetic analysis of electrical machines, including finite element analysis (FEA)
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and dynamic simulations
Experience in the design, testing, and fabrication of electrical machines and systems
Experience with technologies related to generators, motors, and other electrical equipment
Familiarity with engineering drawings and 3D design software (preferred)
