Prosecuting Attorney (Legal)
Team Georgia Careers is seeking a Prosecuting Attorney for the Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office. This role involves investigating and prosecuting insurance fraud and related financial crimes, collaborating with law enforcement, and representing the Department in legal proceedings.

Responsibilities
Prosecute insurance fraud cases, including but not limited to false claims, staged accidents, arson, premium fraud, workers’ compensation fraud, and healthcare-related insurance fraud
Collaborate with the Criminal Investigation department to identify and address fraud trends and complex schemes
Review and evaluate investigative reports, evidence, and referrals to determine appropriate legal action
Represent the Department in statewide hearings to include in-person hearings and video hearings
Draft and file criminal charges, civil complaints, motions, subpoenas, and other legal pleadings
Conduct hearings, pretrial conferences, trials, and sentencing proceedings
Serve as legal resource for questions, concerns and issues of public safety and the operations of the Department
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctorate in a related area from an accredited college or university
License to practice law in the State of Georgia or eligibility to sit for the next Georgia Bar examination followed by Georgia Bar exam passage and licensure to practice law in the State of Georgia within one (1) year of hiring
Reciprocity and three (3) years of relevant legal experience
Three (3) years of experience required at the lower-level Attorney 3 (LEP022)
