The Arkansas Department of Transportation is seeking an Intern to assist in surveying tasks. This role involves learning to use survey instruments and performing field reconnaissance for Public Land Survey System monuments.

Responsibilities

Assist in the use of survey instruments, calculators, automated electronic data collectors, and GPS equipment
Train in reading and plotting land descriptions and the use of computers
Perform field reconnaissance for Public Land Survey System (PLSS) monuments
Learn and assist with plotting survey data on plan sheets
Train in reading and plotting land descriptions and the use of computers

Required

Student pursuing the educational equivalent of an associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a program of study accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Accreditation Education (CHEA)
Completion of 30 college hours toward this degree
Students must be majoring in a highly technical curriculum or advanced degree in the area surveying/spatial information systems
Cumulative grade point average of 2.0
Valid driver's license required
