Responsibilities

Define and execute a modern enterprise data strategy aligned with business goals and digital transformation priorities

Partner with the VP of Artificial Intelligence and other technology and business leaders to design and deliver scalable data pipelines, platforms, and architectures that enable advanced analytics and AI innovation

Oversee the engineering, modernization, and integration of enterprise data systems and digital tools, ensuring high availability, security, and performance

Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, including data mesh, cloud-native development, and continuous delivery frameworks

Establish standards for data quality, governance, and accessibility to ensure trusted data across all domains and use cases

Partner with scientific, clinical, and commercial leaders to ensure digital and data capabilities accelerate research, optimize operations, and enhance customer experiences

Represent the Digital and Data Engineering function as a key member of the IT leadership team, contributing to enterprise-wide technology strategy and investment planning

Effectively manage, support, and guide your team, including, but not limited to delegating tasks and responsibilities, assessing employee performance and providing helpful feedback and training opportunities

Required

Bachelor's Degree in a field related to essential duties; or Associates Degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience

18 years of progressive experience in data and software engineering, digital platforms, or enterprise technology leadership

Proven track record of delivering large-scale digital and data transformation initiatives in complex, regulated, or global environments

Expertise in modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), distributed data systems, and contemporary data engineering frameworks

Strong knowledge of AI/ML data pipelines, metadata management, and MLOps best practices

Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with experience influencing senior executives and boards

Experience managing multi-functional engineering teams and vendor/partner ecosystems

Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation
