Amphenol TCS is a market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market. They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for mechanical connector design, analysis, and customer support while working within a global cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

Develop innovative product solutions

Review product designs ensure product performance and customer requirements are met

Utilize 3D CAD software to develop derivative designs

Prepare samples for development studies and DOEs

Analyze designs utilizing Finite element analysis

Collect, record, and analyze data

Develop and review product performance specifications

Ensure projects are completed on time

Ensure connector derivative designs are cost effective

Work with component suppliers to bring up new designs

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

5 to 10 years of mechanical design experience

Proficient in 3D modeling using Solidworks

General understanding of drawing standards such as ASME Y14.5

General knowledge of component tooling DFM

General understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

Ability to communicate well with Global Customers and all levels of the organization including Management, Marketing, Sales, Process Engineering, Test Lab personnel, other Engineers (local and global)

Ability to prioritize, work to meet objectives and to manage multiple activities/projects simultaneously
