Oak Ridge Legal Search is working with an international firm seeking an Insurance Coverage & Litigation Associate with at least three years of experience. The role involves managing complex insurance claims, analyzing legal principles, drafting coverage opinions, and maintaining an organized caseload.

Responsibilities

Managing caseload and/or supporting Partners and colleagues on larger complex insurance claims (e.g., coverage and declaratory judgment litigation in state and federal court)

Analyzing and applying legal principles and facts to derive technically sound, commercial strategies for complex cases and insurance policy coverage issues

Drafting coverage opinions, position letters, and related analyses

Drafting and reviewing correspondence, reports and litigation documents

Maintaining caseload in good organizational shape and in accordance with client quality and service level agreements

Required

At least three years of insurance coverage litigation experience

J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York Bar

Knowledge of state court and federal court practice and procedure is required

Strong research, writing, and analytical skills

The ability to run your own caseload and work both autonomously and as part of a team

The ability to think and act quickly, and to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Exceptional client service and communication skills

Preferred

Primary and excess general liability coverage work experience preferred but those with an insurance background in other lines of business, such as D&O, E&O, EPL, LPL, or Cyber, as well as litigation will also be considered

Experience managing discovery, including taking and defending depositions is strongly preferred

Law school transcripts and cover letters are appreciated but not required
