Base Area Supervisor
Camelback Resort is seeking a Base Area Supervisor to oversee daily base area operations, ensuring a safe and exceptional experience for guests and employees. This role involves supervising frontline operations, coordinating snow removal and cleanliness, and ensuring adherence to safety standards and company policies.

Responsibilities
Supervise daily base area operations, ensuring safe, efficient guest and employee movement throughout all base area zones
Lead and coordinate cleaning and snow removal operations for all guest and employee areas, including inside lodges, restrooms walkways, stairs, ramps, building entrances/exits, patios, queue areas, and service corridors
Responsible for all cleanliness within ski lodge areas including restrooms, trash removal, and general cleanliness
Monitor weather conditions and proactively adjust snow removal plans to maintain safe access during storms and freeze/thaw cycles
Assign, direct, and assist teams with shoveling, cleaning, trash removal, salting/sanding, and snow mitigation tasks
Conduct frequent inspections to identify icy conditions, snow buildup, and trip hazards; take immediate corrective action
Ensure proper placement and use of snow removal equipment, cleaning supplies, ice melt materials, and safety signage
Enforce all safety protocols, resort policies, and industry best practices
Coordinate closely with Lift Operations, Ski & Snowboard School, Guest Services, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Security, Engineering, and Ski Patrol
Support opening, peak, and closing procedures for the base area
Assist with staffing needs, including scheduling support, break coverage, and callouts
Train and coach team members on service standards, safety expectations, and snow removal procedures
Overseeing the cleanliness of our parking lots and managing the trash removal
Support special events, holidays, and peak operational periods
Complete daily logs, snow removal checklists, and incident documentation
Act as a hands-on leader, actively participating in snow removal and base area cleanliness as needed
Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and direction to team members
Assist with onboarding and training of new hires, including snow safety and hazard awareness
Support performance management and corrective action in alignment with company policy
Foster teamwork, accountability, and clear communication across all base area functions
Maintain a strong focus on safety for guests and employees at all times
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations
Uphold resort snow management and risk mitigation standards
Participate in safety meetings, storm response planning, and emergency drills
Identify hazards and take proactive measures to reduce risk and prevent injuries
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience in resort operations, guest services, facilities, or outdoor operations
1+ year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Strong guest-service and conflict resolution skills
Ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced, high-volume environments
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work outdoors in variable and extreme winter weather
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, and late evenings
Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching
Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 50lbs
Prolonged standing/walking on slippery, inclined, or uneven surfaces in extreme winter weather. For extended periods of time, up to the full length of the shift
Flexible schedule required, including early mornings for storm response
Preferred
Experience in ski resort, resort appearance or mountain operations
Familiarity with base area layouts and winter safety practices
