They are seeking a Student Assistant for the Mathematics Academic Resource Center (MARC) to provide tutoring support for students enrolled in math courses, assisting with academic tutoring, study techniques, and technology use.

Responsibilities

Conduct one-on-one and group tutoring through face-to-face and online appointments

Assist students with learning platforms such as ALEKS and D2L

Assist students with technology such as the TI-84 calculator

Assist students with study techniques, note taking, and scheduling

Participate in tutor training which includes course embedding

Schedule appointments, manage phones, and record tutoring data

Maximum of 19 hours per week

Qualification

Required

Currently enrolled student in at least 6 credit hours at Middle Georgia State University

Current GPA of at least 3.00

Good communication skills

Comfortable with basic technology

Proficiency in Mathematics. This can be demonstrated by earning an A in a math course or by an equivalent accomplishment such as high SAT/ACT math scores
