Responsibilities
Evaluate operational and IT processes, systems, and applications to assess risk management, internal controls, and compliance
Document audit evaluations thoroughly and in accordance with professional internal auditing standards
Apply internal audit principles, theories, and concepts while aligning with ERCOT’s culture and values
Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions
Respond to inquiries and provide guidance or assistance to junior team members as appropriate
Perform work primarily within assigned projects or audit engagements
Identify emerging risks and initiate or petition for audits and investigations to mitigate risk and strengthen controls
Review audit work papers for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to professional standards
Monitor standards of conduct and ethical compliance when assigned by the Director of Internal Audit
Provide training and mentoring to new employees and contractors, and refresher training for existing staff
Interface with external auditors during joint audits and reviews
Oversee audit report drafting, editing, and quality review of junior staff work
Participate in cross-functional projects and consulting activities using operational and IT standards and controls
Perform audits with complex or ambiguous scope requiring advanced data retrieval and analysis
Apply specialized technical skills and competencies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge
Preferred
CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor
CIA – Certified Internal Auditor
CISM – Certified Information Security Manager
CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
