Responsibilities

Assist the Senior Specialist with the preparation of all reports for legal accounts or, accounts that are in litigation; and to ensure placements are forwarded to the appropriate agency
File, process and close all affidavits, subpoenas, litigation, liens, bankruptcies, estates and small claims proceedings as required for judicial system
This may require appearances in court to assist legal counsel with these legal accounts to ensure the collection of balances due to the hospital
This also includes using the on line computer program (word) to assist in creating the legal documents as required by the judicial system
Respond to attorney questions to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement to the hospital
Respond to legitimate requests for itemized bills as they pertain to legal accounts
Document activity within the Patient Financial Services on line computer system
Attend both internal and external meetings as required by Manager to keep abreast of all follow-up techniques, educational programs and inservice meetings as they pertain to the legal accounts
Participate in educational programs and in service meetings as required
Maintain quality assurance as it pertains to safety, environmental and infection control in accordance with established system policies, procedures and objectives
Perform other related duties as required

Required

High school diploma
One year of office experience including experience in patient financial services
Computer literacy, and familiarity with MS Word, Excel, etc
