Learn about our company, surety bond fundamentals, and claims processes
Understand how bonds are issued and how claims are asserted
Gain proficiency in claims handling procedures and compliance with statutory and regulatory deadlines
Shadow experienced team members and gain exposure to different claims disciplines, as well as related legal and regulatory issues
Investigate claims by reviewing documentation, gathering information from various parties, and analyzing legal and business issues
Prepare determination letters and assist in mediations and court proceedings
Expand skills to manage more complex claims independently and contribute to risk mitigation strategies
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent education/experience
Up to two years of relevant legal experience (civil litigation, insurance claims, construction law, or probate practice preferred)
Strong analytical and legal research skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to quickly learn systems (Salesforce, Box.com, Microsoft Office)
Strong work ethic, resourcefulness, and initiative
Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines
Professional demeanor and customer service mindset
Preferred
Up to two years of relevant legal experience (civil litigation, insurance claims, construction law, or probate practice preferred)
