Responsibilities
Support drainage and water resources disciplines, including closed and open system drainage designs, FEMA flood studies, post-construction stormwater, erosion control, and bridge and culvert hydraulics
Cross training in roadway and general transportation design
Produce construction plan drawings, author technical reports, and complete design calculations, with minimal oversight
Develop engineer's quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates, with minimal oversight
Qualification
Required
3 years of relevant experience
4-year Civil Engineering (or related) degree
Drainage Design/Modeling/Erosion Control/Hydraulics experience, with willingness to expand skills into related disciplines
Familiarity with Bentley OpenRoads Designer
Ability to utilize HEC-RAS 1D/2D, HY-8, and Hydraulic Toolbox
Ability to produce construction plan drawings, author technical reports, and complete design calculations, with minimal oversight
Ability to develop engineer's quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates, with minimal oversight
Knowledge of AASHTO design policies, including GDOT Drainage Design Policy Manual, GDOT Stormwater Design Guide, and GDOT Guidance for Hydrologic and Hydraulic Studies
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Engineer in Training (EIT) license (required)
Preferred
Experience designing GDOT projects and familiarity with the GDOT PDP (desired)
