Research Scientist Associate

Responsibilities
Conduct scientific research and assist students in their research on surface water, aquifers, cave systems, climate variability, paleoenvironmental proxies, and the resilience of water resources in urban and rural settings
Co-supervision of research and laboratory activities of employees, graduate students, and undergraduate students
Identification of grant opportunities, and inception, writing, editing, and submission of grant proposals working with affiliated ESI faculty
Assist in the management of the Environmental Science Institute. This includes review and approval of documents online, organization of staff activities, and coordination of ESI’s research networks, including the Texas Water Research Network
Qualification
Required
Experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas: Water science, including surface water, groundwater, and water quality
Paleoclimate and paleoenvironmental reconstructions using proxies such as speleothems, dendrochronology, dendrochemistry, or related archives
Environmental geochemistry and isotope-based approaches applied to natural systems
Interdisciplinary and collaborative research addressing climate variability and water-resource resilience
Conduct scientific research and assist students in their research on surface water, aquifers, cave systems, climate variability, paleoenvironmental proxies, and the resilience of water resources in urban and rural settings
