OFFICE SECRETARY III
The State of Maryland is seeking an Office Secretary III for the Department of Assessments and Taxation, Real Property Division. This role provides advanced clerical and administrative support, managing correspondence, responding to public inquiries, and maintaining confidential records to ensure efficient property assessment services for Maryland residents.

Responsibilities
To provide advanced clerical and administrative support as a Secretary III within the Anne Arundel Assessments Office
This position is responsible for independently managing correspondence, responding to public inquiries, maintaining confidential records, and preparing documents related to assessment and exemption processes
The role ensures accurate and timely processing of information and supports the daily operations of the office, contributing directly to the agency’s mission of delivering fair, efficient, and accessible property assessment services to Maryland residents
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
Three years performing secretarial or clerical work involving typing duties
Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a keyboard of a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position
Preferred
Experience managing a high-volume workload and successfully prioritizing tasks to meet strict deadlines
Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple assignments or competing priorities with minimal supervision
Experience handling confidential or sensitive information in compliance with state, agency, or legal requirements
Ability to maintain discretion and follow established protocols when working with confidential records
Experience organizing and maintaining paper and electronic filing systems to ensure information is accurate, accessible, and secure
Experience using office software tools such as Microsoft Office, shared drives, or database systems to track, store, and retrieve files
Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in preparing correspondence, entering data, or reviewing documents
Proven ability to proofread, verify information, and check work for errors prior to submission
