Chemical Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

Assist in developing and optimizing metal surface treatment processes
Collaborate with experienced engineers to improve existing methods
Investigate new techniques for enhancing surface properties
Chemical Etching: Understanding the chemical reactions involved
Electroplating: Learning about electrodeposition processes
Anodizing: Exploring oxidation-based surface treatments
Passivation: Studying methods to prevent corrosion
Coating Applications: Familiarizing yourself with coatings like paints, enamels, and protective films
Conduct Periodic Testing and wet chemistry titrations and dilutions
Analyze samples using laboratory equipment such as pH meters, XRF metal analyzer, spectrometer, hydrometer, microscopes, thermometers, and centrifuge
Validate treatment processes by analyzing results and ensuring consistency
Collaborate with quality assurance and control teams to maintain high standards
Prepare technical reports on tests, findings, and process improvements
Document process parameters, safety protocols, and best practices
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including materials scientists, production engineers, and technicians
Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your knowledge

Required

Pursuing a degree in chemical engineering or a related field
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Familiarity with basic chemical principles and laboratory techniques
Proficiency in using tools like CAD software, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools
