Director of Sales - Sporting Goods Channel (Eyewear)

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day relationships with sporting goods retail partners, including national chains and specialty retailers
Serve as the primary point of contact to ensure alignment across sales, operations, and merchandising, working directly with the SVP of Eyewear to align strategic plans to grow this channel
Proactively resolve partner issues and ensure seamless service from order placement through delivery
Develop and implement tailored sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets for sporting goods accounts
Create and monitor seasonal/annual sales plans and projections
Track orderbooks and ensure timely fulfillment across all partners
Analyze weekly sell-through, performance metrics, and sales trends to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver insightful business reviews and optimize product assortment
Partner with internal teams (marketing, operations, planning, and merchandising) to align on account initiatives and product launches
Track inventory flow and manage special programs, exclusive assortments, or seasonal launches tailored for the sporting goods channel
Stay current on market trends and competitor activity within the eyewear and sporting goods landscape
Identify and pursue new opportunities to expand distribution with non-traditional retail partners

Required

5+ years of experience in progressive sales roles, account management, or wholesale planning; preferably in eyewear, accessories, or sporting equipment/apparel
Strong understanding of retail math and sales analytics
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-first approach to partnership
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with order management or RLM a plus
Ability to travel as needed for trade shows, market appointments, or account meetings

Preferred

Experience working with sporting goods retailers or lifestyle/performance brands is highly preferred
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
