Responsibilities
Meet with clients and families to assess needs and provide legal advice
Draft estate planning documents and Medicaid planning strategies
Prepare and file court pleadings in Surrogate’s Court and Supreme Court
Assist with Medicaid applications and related advocacy
Communicate regularly with clients, courts, and agencies
Manage files efficiently in a high-volume practice
Appear in court as needed in Monroe County and surrounding areas
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Admission to practice law in New York State (required)
Strong legal writing, organizational, and time-management skills
Ability to work independently in a small firm environment
Compassionate demeanor and comfort working with elder adults and their families
Preferred
Experience in elder law, trusts and estates, or related practice areas preferred (newer attorneys with strong interest will be considered)
