Commercial Insights Manager
Rochester Midland Corporation is seeking a Commercial Insights Manager to serve as a key business partner to the commercial, sales, and operations teams. The role involves translating data into actionable insights related to project execution, profitability, and resource management, while also providing financial modeling support and analysis for pricing decisions.

Responsibilities
Perform deep-dive analysis into individual customer profitability, focusing on key drivers such as contract terms, product mix, product profitability, and service intensity
Analyze bookings, revenue, open orders, order patterns, backlog and profitability metrics for identified key customers across business units and for the company
Provide pro-active insights on sales and revenue expectations based on trends and feedback from commercial teams
Partner with the sales and commercial teams during the contract and proposal stage. Provide financial modeling support and analysis for pricing decisions, ensuring that contracts meet target profitability
Analyze and report on bookings conversion, win/loss ratios to assist with financial forecasting
Analyze and report on the company's sales pipeline, including its composition, timing, and associated risks
Partner with business leads to create and maintain financial forecasts for Top 20 customers, including revenue, direct costs, and gross margin
Support commercial diligence of potential acquisition targets and manage integration of acquired company data into reporting and source systems to provide visibility into pro forma Company performance
Manage, create and present clear, insightful commercial reports and dashboards (PowerBI) for senior leadership
Support the annual budgeting and long-range planning process
Foster strong working relationships with project management, sales, operations, and accounting teams to ensure alignment and accurate data
Continuously seek to improve and automate financial processes, reporting, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field
3+ years of experience in a public accounting/consulting role plus 2 years of FP&A experience in a project-based environment
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Entrepreneurial spirit and thrives in a fast-paced environment
Self-starter who stays current with emerging trends in data / technology tools
Proficient in SQL and business intelligence / data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, etc
Proficient with CRM & ERP tools
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data clearly
