Responsibilities
Execute daily payroll operations with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Audit and validate all payroll-related changes, including new hires, terminations, and compensation updates
Manage payroll workflows to ensure all transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with established timelines
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and verify all reporting for accuracy
Import and reconcile commission payments within Workday
Participate in process improvement discussions and support ongoing enhancement initiatives
Set up and maintain tax jurisdictions in Workday
Process garnishments accurately and ensure compliance with federal and state requirements
Manage time and attendance processing through EZ Labor and ensure proper system integration with payroll
Conduct compliance audits, including unclaimed property payroll checks
Support accurate and timely year-end reporting, including W-2 and W-2c processing
Prepare ad hoc payroll, financial, and operational reports as needed
Process manual checks and handle off-cycle payroll transactions
Ensure proper taxation of employer-paid benefits
Research and resolve payroll file issues and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders
Provide responsive support to employee inquiries and manage the payroll inbox
Serve as a resource and mentor to less-experienced team members
Perform other payroll-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is required
Minimum 5+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience, with advanced knowledge of payroll practices, regulations, and compliance
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal abilities with the capacity to build effective relationships across departments
High learning agility and the ability to adapt to new systems, processes, and business requirements
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
High degree of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills
Preferred
Experience with Workday Payroll preferred
