Associate Director of Field Experiences and UG SOE Admissions

NAFSA: Association of International Educators is seeking an Associate Director of Field Experiences and UG SOE Admissions at New Mexico Highlands University. Responsibilities

Facilitates formal and informal discussions about co-teaching progress and areas of needed growth and develops quarterly professional development based on those needs
Communicates requirements and expectations to the co-teaching teams and school administrators throughout the semester
Communicates in a timely manner in person, through telephone calls, and/or e-mail
Supports the development of co-teaching interns by providing constructive, relevant, useful, and written feedback during scheduled meetings and professional development sessions
Collaborates and coordinates with mentors and administrators to schedule mid-term and final evaluation conferences, and monitor student progress
Maintains communication and databases with school districts, facilitates annual placement of co-teachers and develops policy and programming tools
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Required

Master's Degree from an accredited institution in the teaching field
Five or more years of K-12 teaching experiences and ability to meet NM level II Licensure
Experience with assessments of programs in academic setting
Prior experience in teacher mentorship in the state of New Mexico
Prior experience coordinating across stakeholder teams and school districts
Should have 2+ years using NMPED's Educator Evaluation Rubric to perform formal observations/evaluations on staff
Proficiency teaching and communicating with colleagues and students via electronic and digital modalities
Proficiency in Brightspace or other Learning Management System
Proficiency with student advisement/information systems (e.g. Degree Audit in Banner)
Proficiency in Via or similar system or willingness to be trained in Via Watermark (assessments/accreditation systems)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to have critical conversations to help teachers improve
Have strong reputation as an educator and/or classroom teacher
Ability to adapt to new and changing processes and technologies
Strong reputation as an educator and/or classroom teacher
Active NM Tier III Licensure for eligibility in applicable areas
Ability to use technology in the performance of responsibilities
Much be willing to travel to schools
Have a valid driver's license and mode of reliable transportation
Have ability to adapt to new and changing processes and technologies
Use NMTEACH Rubric to perform formal observations/evaluations of staff

Preferred

Three or more years of experience in educational administration or programming coordination aligned with NMPED systems
Experience working with Tribal, Pueblo, and rural communities
Bilingual (Spanish/English or Native American language/English)
