Responsibilities
Execute project activities involving human cell lines, microorganisms, and other biological materials under minimal supervision
Perform standard recombinant DNA techniques including cloning, restriction digestion, ligation, and bacterial transformation
Conduct routine and specialized cell culture using adherent and suspension immortalized cell lines
Analyze plasmid DNA and RNA for purity, concentration, and quality
Perform DNA and RNA extraction, quantification, amplification, and characterization using standard laboratory tools
Troubleshoot experiments and recommend solutions to technical issues
Plan and execute work independently and contribute as a project lead when appropriate
Maintain accurate electronic documentation using validated systems
Summarize and communicate experimental results through written reports and presentations
Follow internal safety procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines
Participate in laboratory maintenance, safety activities, and quality system initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Microbiology, or a related field with relevant laboratory experience
Hands-on experience with bacterial and/or mammalian cell culture
Experience with cloning techniques and plasmid preparation
Experience with nucleic acid extraction, PCR, and electrophoresis
Ability to work in a BSL-2 laboratory environment
Understanding of good laboratory practices, data integrity, and documentation standards
Ability to plan work independently and collaborate across teams
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google applications
Ability to work onsite on a consistent basis
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Adaptability to shifting priorities in a dynamic laboratory environment
Preferred
Experience with LIMS, electronic lab notebooks, or JMP
Experience working in a service-oriented or internal customer–facing laboratory environment
