The Unit Secretary will perform secretarial, clerical, and basic nursing functions, maintain medical records, facilitate communication, and promote a safe environment for patients.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for transcribing orders, ordering unit supplies, answering phones and patient call lights, preparing patient charts and entering patient charges into computer
You will assist with coordinating patient transfers
You will coordinate with hospital Pharmacy and Laboratory in support of patient care
You will maintain all appropriate regulatory logs and participate in chart audit process of the department
Qualification
Required
High School education or comparable knowledge
No prior experience required
Excellent interpersonal skills and computer skills required
Computer Microsoft Office; multi-line phone
Preferred
Public contact and clerical experience preferred
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple functions preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
