Responsibilities
Evidence & Record Management
Retrieve VA decisions, notification letters, and other records from the VA’s system (VBMS), ensuring all key documents are captured promptly
Identify relevant materials and accurately enter and organize them in the firm’s case-management system
Maintain current, comprehensive case files that support legal analysis and next-step execution by the Accredited Agent(s) and attorneys
Claims Development Support
Draft and prepare VA forms, responses, and supporting documents based on legal direction provided
Assist with assembling and preparing evidence for submission, ensuring completeness and alignment with case needs
Handle uploads through VA.gov, Direct Upload, or other VA platforms following established procedures
Claims Tracking & Case Progression
Monitor claim status updates, deadlines, and VA actions to ensure the legal team has real-time visibility into developments
Update internal milestones and incorporate new documents or VA correspondence into the case file without delay
Coordinate with the Accredited Agent(s) and Case Managers when additional information or follow-up is required
Veteran Communication
Contact veterans only as directed, on a task-specific basis
Ensure all communication is precise, professional, and consistent with firm standards
Team Collaboration
Work closely with the VA Legal Practice Manager, attorneys, and Case Managers to execute workflows that keep cases organized and moving
Participate in team discussions about process improvements and case-handling best practices
Contribute to maintaining a high standard of organization, accuracy, and consistency across the VA practice
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
Experience in customer service
