They are seeking a Principal Customer Engineer to lead the development of their integrations platform, enhancing automation and data flow across systems to support customer-facing engineering teams.

Responsibilities
Architect and lead the end-to-end development of the company's integrations platform
Define technical vision, roadmap, and standards for integrations, automations, and data movement
Develop and build reusable, in-product automation services (e.g. Python-based data transformations for lab equipment, event-driven automations) that eliminate manual workflows for customers
Establish patterns, libraries, and frameworks, so automations are consistent, observable, and easy to operate at scale
Oversee the development of robust, secure connectors and migration pipelines to ensure seamless data movement between our platform and external systems
Define playbooks and tooling for repeatable go-live migrations, sandbox-to-production flows, and ongoing data syncs
Convert ad-hoc engineering work (scripts, one-offs, manual processes) into reusable frameworks, configuration-driven features, and self-service tooling
Own the company's developer tools end to end, including developer documentation and examples, APIs SDKs and integration patterns, and internal tooling that accelerates customer engineering and partner work
Serve as an escalation point and technical advisor for complex customer scenarios involving integrations, automations, and data models
Qualification
Required
BS+ in Computer Science or related field
10+ years of experience in software engineering, 5+ years of experience leading engineering or technical teams (people management or technical leadership)
Deep expertise with AWS services (compute, storage, messaging, data, security)
Proven experience designing and operating automation systems, data integrations, and platform architectures in a SaaS environment at enterprise scale
Demonstrated ability to productize engineering solutions: turning bespoke scripts, services, and one-off work into reusable, customer facing features and tools
Experience building developer tools such as reusable connectors for complex event-driven integrations as part of a scalable integrations platform buildout
