Responsibilities

Perform technical research assessments of future energy resource options to inform leadership decision-making
Identify research, development, and demonstration opportunities for future or emerging energy technologies
Manage technology development and pilot projects to mature SRP's understanding and application of future resource technologies
In conjunction with other departments, evaluate the fit for certain energy generating technologies within SRP's future fleet and track technical and commercial metrics to inform longer-term planning processes by others
Prepare and/or conduct written and oral reports and presentations
Prepare specifications, evaluates bids, and prepare recommendation materials for management consideration
Administer and review work performed by consultants, in-house staff, technology developers, and others, including coordination of reviews with SRP subject matter experts
Actively participate in industry groups and organizations focused on moving new technologies from research to commercial deployment
Serve as SRP liaison and information source on select future technologies to other SRP departments and outside research organizations or groups
Establish and manage strategic partnerships with various entities across the technology development ecosystem including technology companies, developers, financial organizations, research organizations, and others
Provide technical support to staff and management
Actively mentors less-experienced engineers on technical, project management, and/or best practices related activities
Perform other tasks as may be assigned

Required

Five (5) years full time experience actively engaged in engineering practice
Must have demonstrated the successful accomplishment of work of the nature defined for the job of Senior Engineer
Completion of a bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum, an International Engineering Alliance (IEA) recognized institution, ABET Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) or any state or internationally recognized PE registration
Must possess the appropriate valid Arizona driver's license
All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred

Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years of experience at Level 1; demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor
Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of three years of experience at Level 2; is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities
