Responsibilities
Lead, hire and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering professional growth and continuous improvement
Champion career development and continuous improvement through regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career development planning
Build a positive, high-performing team culture willing to take calculated risks
Guide architectural decisions and ensure technical excellence across projects, particularly in support of services and APIs for a multi-tenant SaaS application
Build an AI-first team embracing emerging AI trends and toolsets
Collaborate with engineers to review designs and code to improve quality and consistency
Ensure teams follow best practices in testing, documentation, performance, and security
Ensure team executes with strong agile principles, providing constant visibility of progress, obstacles and projections
Partner with product management define requirements and project milestones
Monitor progress, identify risks and bottlenecks, and implement mitigation and improvement strategies
Contribute to the engineering roadmap and long-term technical strategy
Help define team structure, hiring needs, and resource planning
Champion process improvements and operational excellence initiatives
Serve as a key liaison between engineering and business stakeholders
Communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
Advocate for engineering needs, including tooling, infrastructure, and process enhancements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience in related field (12+yrs minimum)
12+ years of software engineering experience, 4+ years in a leadership role
Strong understanding of modern software development practices, tools, and methodologies
Experience overseeing complex multi-tenant SaaS software projects from concept to delivery
Familiarity with modern AI tools used in a production environment
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Strong Agile/Scrum methodology experience
Preferred
Experience with modern integration toolsets, such as middleware and public cloud API services
Adept at designing solutions in public, private, and hybrid infrastructure models
Effectively growing teams through both internal hires and partnerships
Leveraging automation tools (CI/CD pipelines, IaC, configuration management) to modernize systems and processes
