Responsibilities

Provide academic advising, career counseling, and personal development support to students
Develop and implement programs and workshops that support student success, retention, and well-being
Managing & supporting student-led initiatives, for example, Student Clubs, Student Representatives, service projects, and networking/social events, among other projects, for more than seven graduate degree programs and over 500 students annually, and across multiple campuses
Liaising with other university departments for problem solving, conflict resolution, and assisting with student requests/processing
Traveling with & supporting students at international locations for international program residencies
Advising students with degree requirements, faculty engagement, student team dynamics, greater university liaison, and multiple other general student concerns, issues, and problems affecting the student experience

Required

Bachelor's degree
A minimum of 1 year of program management experience in a professional setting requiring organization of large volumes of data, meeting deadlines, completing projects, and working within a team
Must have a strong and effective communication engine capable of handling a large volume of multiple communication tasks simultaneously while delivering accurate, informational, directive, and clear information, both verbally and in writing, to wide range of stakeholders including university colleagues, faculty, executives, vendors, and early- and mid-career professionals
Must have a demonstrated, expert use of the Microsoft suite and Google suite of products, with a special focus on MS-WORD, MS-EXCEL, GMAIL, and Google Drive
Must be able to understand, work from, and manage simple and sometimes complex financial plans, such as program budgets. Must be able to monitor, manage, and designs large databases, such as student rosters and co-curricular calendars
Must be capable of functioning independently and with complete discretion since much of the information related to students, both applicants and degree candidates, is highly confidential and protected by law. Little to no supervision is expected on the vast majority of tasks
Ability to work collaboratively on a small team
Must be ready and able to travel up to 5% of the year to domestic and international locations to support global programs
This position requires commuting back and forth regularly between the Hilltop and Capitol Campuses of Georgetown University

Preferred

Master's Degree Preferred
Education and/or training in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field is highly desirable, especially at the Master's level or above
Working in a university setting in student affairs, academic advising, or a related area is highly desirable, but not required
Familiarity with SLACK, CANVAS, & Google Sites is highly desirable
