Keck Medicine of USC is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and coordinate all payroll functions within the organization. The role involves managing complex payroll processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting benefits administration.

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or other relevant payroll software

Ensure accurate data entry for payroll transactions including hours worked, deductions, bonuses, and benefits administration

Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare journal entries for general ledger accounting

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations related to payroll and benefits

Oversee accounts payable and receivable related to payroll expenses

Perform account reconciliation and analysis to ensure accuracy of payroll data

Support HRIS functions including employee record management and benefits administration

Generate reports for management on payroll costs, tax filings, and other financial metrics

Collaborate with accounting teams on governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting procedures if applicable

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and ensure data security protocols are followed

Required

Proven experience in payroll management within a corporate or non-profit environment

Extensive knowledge of payroll software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms

Strong understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits, and journal entries

Familiarity with financial concepts related to benefits administration, tax compliance, accounts payable/receivable, and governmental reporting requirements

Experience with financial software including QuickBooks or other relevant accounting tools

Demonstrated ability to perform data entry with high accuracy (10 key typing skills) and analysis skills for financial reporting

Knowledge of human resources processes related to payroll and benefits administration

Ability to handle complex account reconciliation tasks and maintain detailed records with precision
