Communications Specialist II - Honors
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is seeking a Communications Specialist II to support the mission and strategic goals of the Honors College. The role involves leading communication initiatives that promote academic excellence and institutional visibility, while also managing assessment and reporting related to student outcomes.

Responsibilities
Developing and managing internal and external communications, including digital content, print materials, and promotional campaigns that highlight the accomplishments of Honors students, faculty, and programs
Supporting assessment and reporting by collecting, organizing, and presenting data related to student outcomes, program effectiveness, and strategic initiatives
Collaborating with the Associate Dean of Academics, the National Scholarships and Fellowships Coordinator, and university partners to ensure consistent messaging, support recruitment and retention, and contribute to a dynamic and well-rounded academic environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, public affairs, media, journalism, English, or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution
Three (3) years of experience in communications, public relations, or publicity work
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Preferred
Master's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field
Three or more years of experience in higher education or public sector communications
Strong writing and editing skills for various formats, including press releases, reports, and digital content
Experience with content management systems, social media, and digital marketing tools
Familiarity with assessment reporting or data visualization in an academic setting
Proven ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple projects
