Sr. Analytics Engineer (Amazon Marketplace)

They are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer who will focus on transforming raw data into actionable insights and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities
Architect the Logic – Design and develop advanced data models in dbt that transform raw data into actionable datasets for internal stakeholders and clients
Solve Business Problems – Partner with business leads to understand their challenges and translate complex requirements into elegant, efficient SQL code
Optimize Performance – Own BigQuery performance optimization from the transformation side, using smart partitioning, clustering and incremental modeling strategies to ensure cost-efficiency and speed
Ensure Data Integrity – Implement robust testing and documentation standards to ensure that every metric—from margins to inventory turns—is accurate and reliable
Data Storytelling – Create high-impact visualizations and executive dashboards that distill complex logic into clear, actionable business narratives
Mentor & Standardize – Lead code reviews, promote SQL best practices, and mentor team members on how to build scalable, maintainable analytics models
Qualification
Required
Analytical Problem Solver – You enjoy the 'puzzle' of data. You can take a vague business question and structure a logic-based solution
SQL Mastery – You are an expert in SQL. You understand window functions, CTEs, and how to write highly optimized queries for large-scale data environments
dbt Expertise – Proven experience using dbt (Data Build Tool) to manage transformations, snapshots, and testing frameworks
Data Modeling Experience – A strong understanding of dimensional modeling (Star Schema) and how to structure data for self-service analytics
Modern Data Stack Proficiency – Experience working within cloud data warehouses like Google BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks
Communication – Ability to explain technical logic to non-technical audiences, including C-level executives and brand managers
Preferred
eCommerce Experience: Familiarity with marketplace data, SKU management, or advertising metrics (ACOS/TACOS)
Financial Literacy: Understanding of COGS, profit margins, and financial reconciliation
Inventory Knowledge: Experience modeling demand forecasting or supply chain data
