MEP Commissioning Supervisor

Responsibilities

Develop Pre-Commissioning Plans: Create and implement detailed pre-commissioning plans and procedures for HVAC systems, equipment, and related MEP systems
System Walkdowns: Lead and perform detailed walkdowns of systems and equipment to identify deficiencies and ensure alignment with design specifications
Preliminary Functional Checks: Conduct initial system checks, including loop checks, calibration of instruments, controllers, and control systems to assess operational readiness
Collaborate with Project Teams: Coordinate pre-commissioning activities with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure all pre-commissioning tasks are performed according to schedule
Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Address and resolve any issues or defects identified during the pre-commissioning phase, ensuring timely resolution and minimal project delay
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit detailed reports, including daily progress reports, test results, and checklists, ensuring accurate and up-to-date project documentation
Liaison Between Teams: Act as a key point of contact between commissioning, construction, and operations teams to ensure a seamless handover from pre-commissioning to commissioning
Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and sharing relevant knowledge with project teams to support future work
Schedule and Compliance Management: Ensure all pre-commissioning activities comply with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and the project timeline
Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely and efficient completion of commissioning-related tasks and final product turnover
BAS System Review: Review and verify Building Automation System (BAS) graphics and ensure they align with contract documents and the sequence of operations
Software and Tracking: Regularly update and review third-party software related to commissioning, tracking pre-functional and functional test results
CX Issues Log: Maintain and track issues in the Commissioning (CX) log, ensuring appropriate resolution and coordination with the construction team and Engineers of Record (EOR)
Documentation Review: Thoroughly review contract documents, including submittals, specifications, sequence of operations, RFI’s, and shop drawings, ensuring proper system functionality and compliance

Required

Minimum of 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role, with 10+ years of experience in testing, commissioning, and HVAC systems
Strong experience with technical drawings, P&IDs, and project documentation
Proficiency in Bluebeam, MS Office, and related software tools
Must have a valid Florida Driver's License and reliable transportation to job sites
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical and functional issues in a timely manner
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, owners, field personnel, and construction teams
Exceptional attention to detail, especially when reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and performance testing
Executes all tasks in a safe manner; utilizes safe work practices as appropriate and per company policy
Will wear protective equipment when entering areas requiring same (Hard Hats, Work Boots, etc.)
Undergo DPAS training necessary for travel to worksites
Possesses or agrees to attain OSHA 30 certification
This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis
The employee must be capable of performing physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and lifting within OSHA ergonomic safety guidelines
